A Landmark Study in Psychedelic Medicine
Real-World Evidence on Bendable Therapy Outcomes
Psych Congress 2025 · San Diego · September 2025
In September 2025, Bendable Therapy and our research partner Osmind unveiled the first real-world evidence study of legal psilocybin services in the United States. Presented at Psych Congress 2025 in San Diego, the IRB-approved study tracked 88 participants through Bendable's program at our Oregon Health Authority-licensed service center, using validated clinical scales (PHQ-8, GAD-7, WHO-5) alongside psychedelic-specific outcome measures. Findings showed that 97% of participants reported improvement in anxiety and depression following therapy.
The study protocol was developed in collaboration with Robin Carhart-Harris, Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, and one of the world's leading psychedelic researchers. Funded in part by The Jurvetson Foundation, the research fills a critical evidence gap as multiple psychedelic medicines advance toward FDA approval. Peer-reviewed manuscripts are currently in preparation.
Expanding Access to Care
A core part of Bendable's mission is making psilocybin-assisted therapy reachable for the people who need it most. In April 2025, Bendable became the first psilocybin service center in Oregon to offer private insurance coverage, through a partnership with Enthea — the only licensed benefits provider currently covering psychedelic mental health treatments. The Bend Bulletin covered what the partnership means for clients across Oregon and beyond, framing it as a pivotal step toward integrating psychedelic care into mainstream mental health treatment.
Beyond insurance, Bendable's scholarship program has awarded more than $275,000 in financial aid to clients since opening — fueled in part by a $50,000 sponsorship from Dr. Bronner's announced in August 2024 and covered by the Bend Bulletin and The Source Weekly. Together, these efforts reflect a simple conviction: cost should not be the barrier between someone and a treatment that could change their life.
